If one were to take into account how
many hurricanes have hit the Louisiana coast and the total devastation
caused, it is easy to understand this culture and the strong link of the
family. Junior groups and Sons of the Legion dot this district and
gather at the Fall and Spring Conferences to meet along with the
Seniors.
Known as the "Mighty Third," this
district stretches from Grand Isle, Louisiana to Gueydan, Louisiana. It
has traditionally been the largest in the state in membership, including
6 past Department Presidents. It
has 35 units.
