Fourth District

Located in the northwest corner of
our State, this District has one of the largest and best known areas in
the State. Shreveport-Bossier is well known because it is the home of
Barksdale Air Force base, which is one of only two sites of B-52 bombers
in the United States. It is also home for several riverboats, which
bring in many tourists each year. The Department of Louisiana holds many
Mid-Winter and Department Conventions in Shreveport-Bossier.
The Fourth District has 13
units. It's Americanism and VA&R programs have been cited as some of
the best nation-wide. The District hosts the largest Women Veterans
program in the State.
It is noted with pride that one of
Louisiana's two former National Presidents came from the fourth - along
with two National Chaplains, as well as one of the founders of Pelican
(Louisiana) Girls State.
