Located in the northeast corner of
our State, this District is the home for the new Northeast Louisiana War
Veterans Home. Very small towns, even fewer cities, dot this
region. Monroe, being the largest, is served by the Ouachita River,
which provides many recreational areas. This Delta Country was a bonanza
for rich Plantation owners and farmers. Cotton is still "King" there,
along with soy beans and truck farms. The educational systems in this
district are "tops." Grambling, Louisiana Tech, and
University of Louisiana Monroe produce
outstanding scholars and athletes.
The Heart and Soul of Veterans and
their families are in the 12 Units who serve to promote Americanism at
it's best. They are also a kind and generous people, originating
programs to serve not only Veterans and their families, but the needy.
